Folio® Forte contains twice the amount of folic acid as Folio®. It was specifically developed for the earliest developmental phase from the desire to have a child until the 12th week of pregnancy.

The micronutrients folic acid, iodine and vitamin B₁₂ play a crucial role in the development of your child. Folic acid in particular is indispensable for the human body, as it is responsible for all cell division processes and thus for the growth of maternal tissue.

Accordingly, it is important to supplement your diet with enough folic acid from the beginning of pregnancy – and ideally from the time you want to have a child.

Folic acid needs vitamin B12 to support blood formation in order to be able to optimally fulfil its tasks. For this reason, Folio® Forte contains both micronutrients acid folic and Vitamin B₁₂ in a perfectly balanced combination.

This combination is supplemented with the mineral iodine, which is needed to build up the thyroid hormones. The hormones control the growth and development of the organs, muscles, nervous system, brain and skeleton.

From the 12th week of pregnancy, your child’s thyroid gland begins to produce its own hormones – that is why it is dependent on the Iodine that you take in with your food.

With a single Folio® Forte tablet a day, you can sensibly and specifically supplement your diet with three important micronutrients.

If you suffer from a thyroid disease and should not take any additional iodine, use Folio® Forte iodine-free.
